Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

A creamy, refreshing, lower sugar latte recipe!

This iced strawberry matcha latte is the refreshing, dreamy sip you didn't know you needed. It's creamy, lightly sweet, and packed with flavor-without being overloaded with sugar.

To keep it lighter, I used unsweetened almond milk, which cuts down on calories while keeping the drink smooth and frothy. For the matcha base, I went with Jade Leaf matcha latte powder, known for its bright, earthy flavor. To create the beautiful pink foam, I mixed Badia powdered beets (for natural color and a subtle earthy sweetness) with almond milk and a touch of whipped topping, then poured it over the matcha layer. A garnish of fresh diced strawberries adds both flavor and a burst of natural sweetness.

How does it taste?
The matcha brings its signature earthy, slightly grassy notes that pair perfectly with the light berry sweetness of the foam. The almond milk makes it creamy without being heavy, and the strawberry-beet topping adds a refreshing, fruity finish. It's indulgent, but still balanced and refreshing-like a springtime pick-me-up in a glass.

Nutrition Spotlight:

  • Lower sugar: only about 14g of sugar per serving compared to a Starbucks Strawberry Matcha Strato Frappuccino, which has 44g of sugar in a grande and 36g of sugar in a tall. See the label comparison below.
  • Lower calorie: this grande pour still keeps calories just under 150 per serving. Using almond milk instead of whole milk saves about 50-70 calories per cup.
  • Added benefits: matcha provides antioxidants, natural coloring from beet root powder.
  • The recipe provides micronutrient benefits from B vitamins like niacin, riboflavin and thiamine and B12 along with Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E (60% daily intake), calcium, iron and potassium.

This iced strawberry matcha latte is proof you don't have to sacrifice flavor to enjoy a lighter, nourishing option. Check out my IG Reel for some drippy, delicious Inspo! Need more strawberry recipes? Try this strawberry cheesecake parfait.
